Why Visit Goa?

Goa, India, is one of those destinations that stays with you long after you leave. Where to Stay in Goa: Santana Beach Resort

We stayed at Santana Beach Resort in Candolim, a charming spot with rustic vibes, tropical gardens, and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s at the quieter end of Candolim Beach, yet still within walking distance of lively restaurants, shops, and bars.

While not luxurious, Santana’s setting makes it a great balance of relaxation and accessibility — perfect if you want a tranquil escape without being too far from Goa’s buzzing nightlife.

Best Restaurants in Goa: Jambalaya

Food is a highlight in Goa, and our favorite dining experience was at Jambalaya. With live music, warm service, and consistently delicious meals, this restaurant stood out.

What to try:

  • Butter chicken with fresh naan
  • Goan curries
  • Surprisingly excellent wood-fired pizza

It’s the kind of place you’ll want to visit more than once, and we highly recommend it for anyone planning a Goa itinerary.

Things to Do in Goa

1. Explore Mapusa Market

A bustling spice market stall in Mapusa, Goa, showcasing various spices in clear containers while shoppers engage with the vendors.

A trip to Mapusa Market is a must. It’s buzzing with energy and a feast for the senses, selling everything from fresh spices to marinated Goan sausages, cashews, and fenny. If you want to experience authentic Goan culture, this is the place to be.

2. Visit Anjuna Beach & Flea Market

A bustling outdoor market in Goa, filled with vibrant stalls showcasing crafts, clothing, and accessories, surrounded by crowds of people exploring and shopping.

Anjuna Beach combines laid-back days with lively nights. The beach itself is perfect for relaxing, while the Anjuna Flea Market (Goa’s largest) is packed with unique crafts and treasures. If you love shopping for souvenirs, plan to spend a few hours here.

3. Take a Trip to Dudhsagar Falls

A view of Dudhsagar Falls cascading through lush greenery in Goa, India, framed by tropical plants.

One of Goa’s most spectacular natural attractions, Dudhsagar Falls is best visited early in the morning before the crowds arrive. The waterfalls cascade in a torrent of white against lush greenery — a truly breathtaking sight and a highlight of any Goa itinerary.

4. Connect with Locals in Candolim

A group of children and an adult woman are smiling and posing together, with a colorful backdrop of a market environment.

Sometimes the most memorable moments aren’t planned. In Candolim, we met a warm-hearted family selling handmade sandals. Their little girl proudly shared her love of school but explained it cost Rs.20 a day, and she couldn’t always attend. This simple encounter reminded us that happiness comes from love, resilience, and community — a memory we’ll always cherish.
